Rafael wins goal award Rafael's excellent September has yielded him a second accolade - Manchester United's Goal of the Month award, as voted for by ManUtd.com readers and MUTV viewers. The young Brazilian's brilliant equaliser against Liverpool - a curling left-footed shot past Pepe Reina, following good link-up play with Antonio Valencia and Shinji Kagawa - topped our online poll by a big margin. Rafael's strike at Anfield earned 61 per cent of the votes, while nearest challenger Alexander Büttner collected 15 per cent. Anderson's effort in the Capital One Cup win over Newcastle United came third with 9 per cent. Seven other goals, scored by players in United's first team, Under-21s and Under-18s, were nominated. Speaking after the Liverpool match on MUTV, Rafael said of his goal: "It's definitely the best one I've scored for United. It was a good moment to get it because it was so quick after they scored. I was so pleased [to score] for the fans. They always give me such great support and I know this is an important game for them so I'm very happy."
